With a 10-6 record last year, this season the Tennessee Titans were hoping that they not only return to the playoffs, but take another step forward and become a force in the league; right now, they are about 3 games away to achieve it.

The Titans made pretty good insertions to the team during training camp this year, including the return of defensive end Jevon Kearse and the TE Alge Crumpler.

I had a good intuitive feeling about this team during the early season and really felt like they were going to be potency each and every week this campaign, until the moment I haven’t been wrong, but still there’s more to go.

While many doubt they might have the power to hang on until the second game with the Colts in the South, I do see them climbing past the Jaguars, especially after a 7-0. Plus, imagine if the Titans make an 11 straight this season, then the playoffs will sound pretty interesting.

Not only have the Indianapolis Colts won the last 5 AFC South division titles, but this 2008/2009 season the Indianapolis Colts were expected to be the team to beat… not anymore, now is Titan’s time.

The Titans are playing so well this season, they can even make excellent quarterbacks, such as Peyton Manning, look bad. During the Monday Night Football game between Colts and Titans, Chris Hope intercepted Peyton Manning not once, but twice and to make matters just a little bit worse for Manning, Titan’s quarterback Kerry Collins threw a 193 perfect yards.

Of course the Colts are still one of the most powerful teams in the AFC South and Peyton Manning remains a solid QB. Unfortunately for the Colts, they were the team to favor the Titans with a 31-21 final score for the 7-0 record this past Monday; which consequently put an end to the Colts division balance right before the fourth quarter.

The Titans have a strange technique that seems to work on every single match, they try to even the first three quarters of the game, but on the fourth they always outscore the rival _risky if you asked me.

So, following their strategy the fourth quarter was the rabbit in the hat from the Titans. Kicker Rob Bironas with just 10 seconds into the quarter, pushed 48 yards into the Colts zone; then Indianapolis took control, claiming the 34 yard on their opponent’s area. As usual, the ball went to Manning, but he could not complete a 4th-and-2 pass, probably for all the pressure that was on him by that time.

At a little more 3 and half minutes to conclude the fourth, Chris Johnson brought a 17 point lead to the Titans after a 16 yard run and even though the Colts score with their 11th play, it wasn’t good enough.

Although the season is still midway, whipping the Colts is a big step forward, but a great characteristic of the Titans is thinking on one game at a time and it has been definitively working for them.
